What does THIS Texas Oilman say we should do with our energy policy?

T. Boone Pickens suggests less foreign oil, more domestic natural gas put in the transportation sector, and increasing our wind output to 22% of the national power grid. It seems rather simple, and he makes a convincing argument.

Here's the video.

Here's the report from the Associated Press.

What do people think of this?

Let me guess... you're not so keen on Pickens now, huh?

I guess Pickens saying he wants to drill everywhere doesn't surprise me. Maybe he's only interested in renewable energy because he sees a lot of profit in it. Either way, I thought it was an interesting presentation, and I just hadn't heard of anyone else in the oil industry, executive or lobbyist, even acknowledging renewable energy or any plan other than: more drilling, period, plain and simple.

It wasn't the man, more the wind power, that I really liked. He just happened to be the one to point it out; remarkable indeed for the unexpected source.
